Why the writing is included and the rendering is not

Writing lyrics is cheap to run and it is where most of the creative work happens, so charging per message would just make you write less and produce worse songs. Rendering audio is genuinely expensive compute. Splitting it this way means the iteration you should be doing freely is free, and the part with a real cost behind it is the part you pay for.
