What the tool actually does

A voice cover keeps the performance and changes the vocal identity

Unlike text-to-song generation, a cover starts with audio. The lead vocal carries the notes, rhythm, diction, and expression; voice conversion maps that performance into your trained vocal identity and returns it with the song.

Read the plain-language difference
  1. Step 1

    Choose a ready voice

Open a trained voice from your private catalog. Train it first if you have not created one yet.

  2. Step 2

    Choose the performance

Paste a YouTube URL, upload the complete song, or record the vocal performance you want to convert.

  3. Step 3

    Set pitch and create

Keep the original key or shift by semitones when the range needs to move, then follow the background job.

Quality before quantity

The source performance still directs the result

A trained model can change timbre, but it does not replace musical judgment. Start with a performance whose timing, pronunciation, and range already make sense.

Match the vocal range

Large jumps outside the trained voice’s examples are more likely to sound strained or unstable.

Fix the guide first

Missed notes, rushed phrasing, and unclear words can carry into the conversion because the performance remains the blueprint.

Use pitch deliberately

A semitone change moves the complete vocal range. An octave shift can be useful, but it will not repair poor phrasing.

Compare on good headphones

Listen for consonants, sustained notes, breaths, reverb tails, and bleed from backing vocals before publishing.

A good fit

  • Personal cover experiments
  • Songwriting demos with a stable voice
  • Guide-vocal replacement
  • Testing keys and vocal character

Plan around this

  • Source-song rights still matter
  • Backing-vocal bleed can create artifacts
  • Extreme notes may expose training gaps
  • Do not present an AI cover as a real performance

Practical uses

Where a trained singing voice helps

YouTube song to voice cover

Start from a permitted public or unlisted song URL without manually downloading and preparing the file.

Uploaded mix to voice cover

Use a song file you control when it is not available on YouTube or when you want a specific master.

Recorded vocal to target voice

Perform the melody yourself, then convert the take into the selected trained voice.

Pitch-fit experiment

Move the source up or down by semitones to explore a range that better suits the trained voice.

Clear answers

AI singing voice questions

The strongest results come from matching the tool to the task and treating voice permission, song rights, and disclosure as part of the workflow.

Open My Voice Studio
How do I clone my voice to make a song?

First train one permitted singing voice from clean recordings. When the model is ready, choose a YouTube song, upload a track, or record a performance, select the voice, adjust pitch if needed, and start the cover job.

Does cloning my voice create a brand-new song?

Voice cloning changes the vocal identity of a source performance; it does not compose a new melody and arrangement. To make an original song first, use Song Studio, then bring the approved performance into My Voice Studio for a separate permitted voice conversion.

Do I need an isolated vocal stem?

No. My Voice Studio accepts a complete YouTube song or uploaded mix and prepares the lead vocal as part of the workflow. A cleaner source can still produce a cleaner result.

Can I record myself instead of uploading a song?

Yes. The in-browser recorder lets you capture a performance, then clone that performance into a ready trained voice.

Does the AI change the melody or timing?

Voice conversion primarily changes vocal identity. It follows the notes, timing, lyrics, and expression in the source performance rather than composing a new performance from scratch.

Can I change the key?

The cover settings allow a pitch shift from −12 to +12 semitones. Test small changes first and listen for range or artifact problems.

Can I publish an AI voice cover?

Publishing depends on your permission to use the trained voice, the composition, the recording, and any platform disclosure rules. Voxmin cannot grant rights to material you do not own.
