The Codex CLI (and the Codex IDE extension, which shares its config) connects to Voxmin's MCP server directly over HTTP, and signs in with your Voxmin account.
codex mcp add voxmin --url https://api.voxmin.com/auth/mcp
codex mcp login voxmin
The first command adds Voxmin to ~/.codex/config.toml. The second opens your browser: log in to Voxmin if you are asked, check that the page names Codex, and choose Approve. Then start a new Codex session.
Voxmin lists Codex under AI Integrations → Connected apps. Sign out there stops it at once.
For a machine with no browser, Codex can read a personal token from an environment variable, so it never sits in the config file. Make one on AI Integrations; it starts with vxm_ and is shown only once.
Open ~/.codex/config.toml (create it if it does not exist) and add:
[mcp_servers.voxmin]
url = "https://api.voxmin.com/auth/mcp"
bearer_token_env_var = "VOXMIN_TOKEN"
bearer_token_env_var names the environment variable Codex reads the token from; Codex sends it as Authorization: Bearer ….
In the shell you start Codex from — or in your shell profile, so it is always set:
export VOXMIN_TOKEN="<your token>"
Start a new Codex session. MCP servers are connected when a session starts.
.codex/config.toml, which Codex reads only for projects you trust. The same [mcp_servers.voxmin] table works there — and because the token stays in VOXMIN_TOKEN, the file is safe to commit.experimental_use_rmcp_client = true at the top of config.toml to reach HTTP servers at all.codex mcp list. voxmin should be listed with its URL./mcp shows the connected servers and their tools.get_account and answers with your credits.| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Voxmin is listed but has no tools | VOXMIN_TOKEN is not set in the shell Codex started from | test -n "$VOXMIN_TOKEN" && echo set should print set; set it and start a new session |
401 Unauthorized | The token is wrong, revoked or expired, or the account is suspended or deleted | Make a new token on AI Integrations and update VOXMIN_TOKEN |
| "Daily credit cap reached" | Today's spend through this token would pass the cap you set on it | Wait until midnight UTC, or make a token with a higher cap |
| "Not enough credits" | Your balance is lower than the tool's price | Top up on the Pricing page |
429 Too Many Requests | More than 60 requests in a minute through this token | Wait a minute and try again |
| The request is refused | It did not pass Voxmin's content checks | Change the request. A refused picture is not charged |
See the overview for every tool, its price and how billing works.
Connect Cursor
Add the Voxmin MCP server to Cursor's mcp.json, so Cursor's agent can make pictures, songs and karaoke with your Voxmin credits.
OpenAI Responses API
Use the Voxmin MCP server as a remote MCP tool in the OpenAI Responses API, so your own app can make pictures, songs and karaoke with your Voxmin credits.

“API rate limits are generous. We process 10,000+ jobs monthly without hitting caps. The async job model fits our architecture perfectly.”
