Connect Cursor

Add the Voxmin MCP server to Cursor's mcp.json, so Cursor's agent can make pictures, songs and karaoke with your Voxmin credits.

Cursor

Cursor connects to Voxmin's MCP server directly over HTTP. Add it once for every project, or for a single project, and sign in with your Voxmin account.

Before you start

  • A Voxmin account with some credits.
  • Cursor.

Add Voxmin and sign in

Cursor reads MCP servers from two files:

  • ~/.cursor/mcp.json — available in every project.
  • .cursor/mcp.json in a project — available in that project only.

Add a voxmin entry under mcpServers (keep any servers already there). With no token in it, the file is safe to commit:

~/.cursor/mcp.json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "voxmin": {
            "url": "https://api.voxmin.com/auth/mcp"
        }
    }
}
Cursor uses about 40 tools at most, and Voxmin offers many more. Connect only the areas you use, for example https://api.voxmin.com/auth/mcp?areas=pictures,songs,jobs — see Connect only some areas.

Then open Cursor Settings → MCP: Voxmin shows that it needs a login. Click it, and your browser opens Voxmin: log in if you are asked, and choose Approve.

Voxmin lists Cursor under AI Integrations → Connected apps. Sign out there stops it at once.

With a personal token instead

Make a token on AI Integrations. It starts with vxm_ and is shown only once, so copy it when you create it. Add it as a header, with your token in place of <your token>:

~/.cursor/mcp.json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "voxmin": {
            "url": "https://api.voxmin.com/auth/mcp",
            "headers": {
                "Authorization": "Bearer <your token>"
            }
        }
    }
}

Keeping the token out of a project file

A project's .cursor/mcp.json is often committed. Never put a token in a file you commit. Cursor fills in environment variables written as ${env:NAME}, so keep your token in VOXMIN_TOKEN instead:

.cursor/mcp.json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "voxmin": {
            "url": "https://api.voxmin.com/auth/mcp",
            "headers": {
                "Authorization": "Bearer ${env:VOXMIN_TOKEN}"
            }
        }
    }
}
export VOXMIN_TOKEN="<your token>"

Start Cursor from a terminal where VOXMIN_TOKEN is set, or set it in your shell profile.

Check it works

  1. Open Cursor's MCP settings: voxmin should be listed and enabled, with its tools.
  2. In the agent chat, ask: "What's my Voxmin balance?" The agent calls get_account and answers with your credits.
  3. Cursor asks before it runs a tool. Read the price in the request before you allow a spending tool.
